Job Description:

Primary mission is to support the production efforts and to monitor production capabilities to produce to customer specifications. The Quality Assurance Manager has the
authority and responsibility for establishing criteria and procedures necessary to meet customer requirements and quality system standards.

Organization:

Large, privately owned company engineers, manufactures, compounds, and molds thermoset composite products. The company offers engineered composite materials, custom molded components, decoration and finishing products, standoff insulators, fire resistant wastebaskets, and iron organizers. Its products are used in various applications of industries, including appliance, construction, electrical distribution, energy, forward lighting, HVAC, lighting, marine, sanitary/plumbing, and transportation in the United States and internationally. The company was founded almost 50 years ago.

Skills, Experience, and Requirements
  • Review products produced at the facility and become familiar with established customer quality
    criteria. This will be accomplished through regular communications with the customers.

  • Work with Manufacturing & Engineering to develop processes and quality system to meet customer
    needs. Capability to design and execute DOE/COV desirable.

  • Work with customer to manage quality expectations based on manufacturing capabilities and voice
    of the process as necessary.

  • Travel 10 – 15% to customers and/or vendor sites to review and resolve quality concerns.

  • Review the Quality Assurance Log daily for off shift inspection notes.

  • Oversee the daily quality functions and activities of the company utilizing our ERP system (IQMS).
    This includes quality personnel work schedules, auditing functions, first article inspections, final
    inspections, gage calibrations, etc.

  • Establish and maintain training for all quality department personnel.

  • Assist manufacturing with creating work instructions and training.

  • Maintain the QA Hold area and disposition of parts

  • Issue debits/credits in IQMS for any RMA’s.

  • Compile and publish monthly Quality Cost reports and PPM Ratings. Constructive problem solving

  • and recommendations for improving problem areas should be included.

  • Help establish and assign schedules for internal audits, supplier audits/surveys, and customer quality
    visits.

  • Help establish and maintain a long term quality improvement plan.

  • Attend training and seminars off-site that relate to quality assurance functions and quality sciences
    as necessary.

  • Promote the philosophy of continuous quality improvement throughout all levels of the company.

  • Maintain, distribute, and control copies of the Quality Manual, Procedures, Work Instruction and
    Forms.

  • Intimate knowledge of ISO-9001-2008. Maintain, audit, update, train and be the Management
    Representative for the ISO system.
